crushed or pureed tomatoes
carrot, chopped finely
onion, chopped finely
celery, chopped finely
garlic, chopped finely
olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

Italian seasoning

Sauté carrot, onion, celery and garlic in olive oil until translucent. Add seasonings, then add canned tomatoes. Simmer at least ten minutes, but the longer the better.
