Remember me talking about this belly picture series? Did I tell you there was another series? I don’t think so. But, either way, this was how the walk ended and their new lives began (click for more details…57 hours of labor!) or watch the video below.

Just one of the pictures from our neighborhood Halloween parade last weekend.
She is one happy scarecrow!

for the birds

Matt sent me a link last night to a series of photographs (as seen on boing boing) taken from the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  I must warn you, the pictures are graphic and gut wrenching if you give a shit about the world we live in.  For the past couple of years, I have been obsessed with consumerism and how our collection (and disposal) of the stuff we consume is going to at some point in time consume us.  And, these pictures are proof that the crap we throw away is destroying our world.  So, if you think that all the talk about recycling, anti-consumerism, global warming, etc. is for the birds, go eat some trash bags and bottle caps, feed some to YOUR babies and let me know how it went.

I think these are my one year portraits.  I’ve got no proof that is the case, so unless my family contests that, I’m going with it.  Whenever I see these pictures, I think I look like a red headed Frankenstein.  With big ears and my lazy eye.  Perfect for Halloween.

fall vacation 2009 : miracle’s wedding

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

As I mentioned previously we attended the wedding of my cousin, Miracle.  Prior to the wedding a friend (actually one of her bridesmaids, Chelsa Yoder) had taken bridal portraits.  At the reception she had this picture framed and on display:

This one is my favorite:

haven-1

Haven was a trooper at her one-year appointment this week.  She had a series of shots (Hib, Prevnar, MMR and the flu shot) and settled down much quicker than she has in the past, which was nice.  Her head is 18 inches around (75th percentile), she weighed in at 24 lbs. (90th percentile) and measured 31 inches long (95th percentile). But if you have ever taken a squirmy toddler to the doctor, I’m sure you know how accurate all those measurements are.  Bottom line is that she’s growing good and is a healthy girl.

haven-ella

Could they be any cuter?  Seriously.  These girls are going to have so much fun (and get into so much trouble) together.
