Weekend plans went out the window when acute pain led to a surprise trip to the emergency room at 5:30 am Friday morning. While the world was mourning the loss of Michael Jackson, I spent the day hospitalized. Shortly after being admitted, I had an ultrasound test done that confirmed my gallbladder was in fact the culprit and needed to be removed. The day was pretty much a blur. Within in a matter of hours I was given pain medication, diagnosed and in surgery. While everything happened very fast, I am glad that everything was taken care of in one day, rather than having to suffer over several days. The biggest blessing was knowing Haven was being taken care of with Matt’s parents while Matt was able to be by my side at the hospital. Otherwise things would have been much more stressful. While I missed Haven terribly, she was perfectly happy hanging out at home with grandma and grandpa, sipping milk from her sippy cup while I pumped and dumped breast milk at the hospital.
All is well. I’m recovering at home and plan on taking it easy over the next week. Matt is taking some time off from work and Matt’s mom is coming mid-week to help us. I’m looking forward to having some down time as a family and think I might take advantage of the helping hands. I’m overdue for a dentist appointment, haircut and a pedicure sure sounds lovely right now.
Thanks for all the well wishes!
Sounds like a great emergency plan to me. Especially on sad and rainy days. This
