About a month ago, we got wind that The Greencards would be performing at Jammin’ Java, so we quickly snagged some tickets. With their brand new album Fascination just released on April 21, we were excited to hear the new tracks. Also, we figured it was about time to take Haven to her first concert! She had been to hear The Greencards (7 months in utero), but I really think she enjoyed watching them even more. The first fifteen minutes or so of the first set, her eyes were glued to what was happening onstage. She was a trooper…she ate her solids right before the performance, nursed about thirty minutes in, watched the rest of the first set and zonked out for pretty much the rest of the show. Unlike previous shows, much of the material was brand spanking new, which was neat. But, the best part was the encore when Kym Warner’s father, Trev, came on stage to join the band in playing a couple of Bluegrass classics, including Ralph Stanley’s Blue Moon of Kentucky.
