snippets

My life as a mom exists in snippets.  In between feedings and naps I desperately try to accomplish such feats as use the bathroom, do some laundry, scarf down something to eat, feed the dogs, run to the post office and check mail.  Sometimes at the same time.  So, some things (such as blogging and emailing) get pushed to the side.  I think of myself as an excellent multi-tasker, but my abilities are being tested.  I imagine as time goes on, I will get better at this or make an adjustment?  Wonder if I could convince my cousin Alison to come and live with us to help me during the day.  With minimal direction she can find just about anything in the house I would need - we would make a great team while Matt is at work.  Unfortunately, she’s married to a great guy named Chris, who probably wants her to live with him, so unless I can clone her, I might have to do without.  Fortunately, I know some supermoms out there who give me hope.

Having said that, Haven is six weeks today and it seems to be we are somewhat over all the humps.  Actually, I was the one with all the humps, she’s been on cruise control since birth.  But, we are moving along.

I just wanted to let you all know that everything is fine (thanks for all the emails!).  We are enjoying our baby girl and bear with us for a while as we adjust to this new life we lead!

paying it forward

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

I can’t tell you how embarrassingly late I am in doing this, but it has been on my to-do list fuhEVER and I’m finally getting around to it.  With a little one, I’m amazed at how time gets zapped away from you and showers and laundry are daunting tasks squeezed in between feedings.  I know some of you are dying to know more about life on the homefront (we are all doing fine) so I promise to have more updates soon, but first things first.

So, back in the winter my friend, Holly, posted about this concept among the blogging community, paying it forward.  Here’s how it works.  I will send a gift (something handmade or something bought - it will be a surprise) to 3 random people who leave a comment on my blog. The only thing you have to do in return is “pay it forward” by making the same promise on your blog or some other form. So, if you like this idea and a bit of ‘happy mail’, please leave a comment on my blog!
